Disney Removing More Of Its Shows & Films From Netflix

Earlier this week, it was revealed that all of the Marvel “Netflix” series, including “The Defenders” and “Daredevil”, were being removed from Netflix globally on February 28th/March 1st.

However, that isn’t the only thing Disney is pulling from Netflix, as many other films and series are also being removed from Netflix globally including:

  • Pose
  • American Horror Story
  • Marvel’s Agents of Shield
  • Ghost Of The Mountains
  • The BFG (US)
  • Radio Rebel
  • Expedition China
  • The Assassination of Gianni Versace
  • Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell
  • Z4
  • marvel frost fight
  • The People vs. OJ Simpson
  • The Defenders
  • Daredevil
  • Jessica Jones
  • iron fist
  • The Punisher
  • Luke Cage
  • And more.

It’s important to note, not all of Disney’s content is being removed from Netflix, such as major ABC shows like “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Criminal Minds” and more, as these shows don’t have leaving notices. There are also some regional differences with some titles being removed.

Over the past few years, Disney’s content has slowly been removed from Netflix as contracts expire.

We should expect these titles to be moved over to Disney’s streaming services. Internationally, expect all of this content to head to Disney+. In the United States, things are a little more complicated. For the Disney branded content, we should expect them to be moved to Disney+, while mature FX shows are most likely to go to Hulu, with a new push into general entertainment content on Disney+, it’s possible the Marvel shows might also be moved to Disney+ .

With so many titles being removed on the same day, it does look like Disney has made a deal with Netflix to remove all of these titles early. As some of these titles weren’t due to be removed for years.

Ever since Disney+ launched, the service has suffered from having some content missing due to previously made contracts and also some content has also been removed temporarily, it looks like Disney is trying to unravel some of these contracts to gain full control of its content.

What do you think of Disney removing its content from Netflix early?
