‘Dreams really do come true’: Ashanti receives star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Ashanti cemented her musical legacy with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Hundreds of fans braved the bright Los Angeles sunshine and temperatures in the high 90s to watch the Happy singer accept the honor in an emotional ceremony.

The 41-year-old hitmaker looked cool and collected under the blazing sun in a figure flattering white suit and white stiletto sandals.

The Billboard Music award winner decorated her decolletage with stunning necklaces of emeralds and diamonds paired with an enormous sapphire and emerald pendant.

She completed the look with sapphire and diamond earrings, multiple diamond, emerald and sapphire rings on her hands, green eyeshadow and her hair pulled back into a sleek, long ponytail.

Ashanti was celebrated for her amazing career which includes multiple music awards, as well as roles in television and film.

Guest speakers Tichina Arnold and Ja Rule were happy to sing her praises.

Arnold, who ‘formed a bond’ with the Mesmerize singer during their work on The Wiz on Broadway said of her co-star, ‘I’ve been in show business for 44 years now and you meet a lot of people along the way but when I met you, you don’t just come with yourself. It’s who surrounds you.’

‘You have been lifted up by God and by the love of your family which is why you are standing on this stage today and you deserve every bit of it.’

The Martin actress continued, commenting on Ashanti’s being in the Guinness Book of World Records for the meteoric rise of her debut album, Foolish, which sold more than 500 thousand copies its first week in release in April 2002.

‘You should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being a beautiful human being,’ Arnold extolled, ‘you should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for being a beautiful human spirit.’

R&B legend Ja Rule commented on his long friendship with the artist, saying, ‘Getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame is like the top of the top.’

Recollecting their first meeting the MTV music video award winner said of their more than two decade friendship,’ It’s such a tough thing to navigate and become what you’ve become in this industry and I just want to say I’m proud of your and I love you. She has a lot more years of amazing work ahead of her film, television, whatever you desire baby. Sky’s the limit.’
