While fans typically identify Siwa, 18, with glitzy looks with side ponytails and a humongous hair bow, this isn’t the first time she’s changed her look. The star showed fans a different side of her in April 2020 when she displayed a toned-down look in a TikTok video. The video featured Siwa sporting relaxed waves and a black t-shirt, a stark comparison to her glittery, metallic looks.
The entertainment world first met Siwa in 2013, when she appeared as a contestant on “Dance Moms” spinoff “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition” before landing a role as a “Dance Moms” series regular in 2015.
In 2017, Nickelodeon signed Siwa to a talent deal, which led to 2018’s animated series about her and her dog, “The JoJo and BowBow Show Show.” She has also worked with Nick Cannon on “Lip Sync Battle Shorties” and leant her voice to “The Angry Birds Movie 2” in 2019.

More recently, Siwa has made waves as a budding LGBTQ icon. Her stint on “Dancing with the Stars,” which saw her compete with a female professional partner, broke ground for ABC’s ballroom-dance competition, as it was the first same-sex pairing featured in the series.
“I have a girlfriend who is the love of my life and who is everything to me,” Siwa told USA TODAY at the time of her relationship with Kylie Prew. “My journey of coming out and having a girlfriend has inspired so many people around the world. I thought that if I chose to dance with a girl on this show, it would break the stereotypical thing. It would be new, different and change for the best.”
Siwa revealed on the “This Is Paris” podcast in November 2021 that she and Prew broke up, but she told host Paris Hilton there’s no bad blood between them: “She is literally still my best friend.” During an appearance on the “Rachel Uncensored” podcast in late March, Siwa shared she’s currently seeing someone.
“We’re not single. I say ‘we’re’ because it’s me and my multiple personalities within myself,” Siwa joked with host Rachel Ballinger. “I am not single, and I don’t want to mingle. No, I’m a loyal lady.”
