Spider-Man’s Zendaya explains connection with Peter Parker

MCU star Zendaya has revealed a special connection to Peter Parker in a new Spider-Man: No Way Home featurette.

No, this has nothing to do with the Euphoria star being romantically linked to Tom Holland, who plays the latest iteration of the Marvel superhero. The actress has opened up on being a longtime fan of Spidey, and relating to him living a double life.

“He’s always been my favorite superhero because I think, at the end of the day, he’s just a kid and he has to lead this double life,” Zendaya said.

“In many ways, I can relate to that, having started in the industry so early.”

Zendaya then shared some thoughts on her MCU character arc, after being introduced in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017.

“With MJ, it’s been really fun in the first movie, being this guarded, quiet, mysterious character that we know nothing about to watch the love story begin with her and Peter at the end of far from home,” she said.

Speaking about MJ and Peter’s romance, Zendaya said it has been “sweet” to watch how they bring out unexpected sides of each other.
